Should I cloak my affiliate links?

Cloaking an affiliate link is technique used to “hide” your link AS an affiliate link.  Sometimes these links are long and may be a bit disturbing to a reader, particularly if you are adding the link to an ezine.

Perhaps the easiest method is to make it appear as a link on your own domain.  You set up a redirect page in the root directory of your own site using the meta “refresh” tag.

To do this, create a new page containing the following code (replacing the affiliate code with your own unique id):

———————————————-

<html>
<head>

<meta http-equiv=refresh content=”0;URL=http://www.AutomatedSalesMachine.com/app/?af=1205396“>

<title>Piano Wizard Academy</title>
</head>

<body>
</body>
</html>

——————————————————————-

Save the page and name it as you prefer, i.e. piano-wizard-academy.html,  and upload it to the root directory of your site.

You now have a new URL to use in your ads in the form of:

http://www.MyDomain.com/piano-wizard-academy.html

Now when the visitor clicks on the link right above, they will automatically be redirected to your affiliate page.
